Lady Amosene W. Sledge

Co-Founder & Senior Pastor

“God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…” – Ephesians 3:20

Self-described as a continuous “work in progress,” Amosene (Lady Amy) has learned how to find deep satisfaction by putting first things first in each area of her life.  She has personally discovered that God’s Word is truly “living and active and more powerful than a two-edged sword.” In fact, that “sword” is much like a precision surgical knife that, when turned on ourselves, excises the lies we believe and replaces them with truth.

As a popular workshop and retreat speaker, Lady Amy has a passion for encouraging others with these life-changing truths. It is her desire to help them dig beneath the surface to find greater balance and purpose in all the dimensions of their lives. Years of mentoring and teaching have earned her the reputation of being a “Virtuous Woman.” Worshipper, servant, and visionary are characteristics that best describe her.

Lady Amy was born and raised in Bay Minette, Alabama. She is the middle child of five children, born to the late Deacon Amos and Mother Carrie Watson. In 1985, Evangelist Sledge became a licensed Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God In Christ, Inc.

Lady Amy serves faithfully at Victory World Outreach Ministries COGIC in Huntsville, Alabama, under the leadership of her Superintendent, Pastor, and husband, Dr. Bobby R. Sledge. She is the President of the “WISE” Women’s Ministry, which is designed to build and equip women to walk in their Kingdom purpose. She has provided leadership and support in serving as Director of Ministries, Instructor of Ministerial Alliance, Sunday School Teacher, mentoring youth as Sunshine Band, Purity Class Leader, Vacation Bible School Coordinator, and so much more. Previously, she functioned as District President of the Missionary Circle for Huntsville District COGIC. She is the Superintendent’s wife of the William Ross Morrow Heritage District. Lady Amy also assists Mother Joe Ann Meadows as the Coordinator for Ministers’ and Deacons’ Wives Circle for Alabama First COGIC.

Educated at Alabama A & M University, Lady Sledge holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education, Master of Education in Learning Disabilities, Early Childhood-Special Ed., and Educational Administration. She continued her doctoral studies in Leadership at Nova Southeastern University.

In response to her desire for un-churched and un-saved women to hear about Christ and also her desire to unite women of various religious backgrounds, Amy initiated her first women’s conference In 2004. This dynamic outreach tool has produced many events in the city of Huntsville and provides an opportunity for Christian women to share their faith with friends, family, and co-workers in a “non-denominational” setting. Amy loves partnering with women’s ministry leaders to host outreach events in their own churches using this very effective model.

Lady Amy’s personal transparency and natural style allow her to address a myriad of subjects with ease. Her audiences are both comforted and challenged by her passionate and practical approach to real-life issues. She believes all the answers to life can be found in God’s Word and shares those truths in creative and memorable ways.

She is a teacher at heart. She loves presenting information and retrieving feedback to educate her listeners as they become more aware of life.  Her reputation for integrating living truths of Scripture with real life and her willingness to “go deep” and authentically share her own journey has endeared her in the hearts of many.

With over 30 years in the field of Education, Lady Amy’s professional experience is diverse and includes many years in both private and public schools as a Teacher, Speech and Language Pathologist, Principal, and Director of Special Education. Her desire to be in ministry full-time to assist her husband led her to retirement in 2018. She is the Executive Director of Community Advancement Programs (CAP), a 501c3 faith-based initiative whose sole purpose is to serve and build up the community.

Lady Amy has been married to her best friend, Dr. Bobby R. Sledge, for 42 years.  She and Dr. Sledge have three lovely adult children, Candace, Christopher, and Derrell; one of her greatest joys has been raising and nurturing them. They feel blessed beyond measure to be the proud grandparents of five grandsons, Caleb, Dylan, Alexander, Christopher, Jr. (CJ), and  Adonis, and four granddaughters, Amiyah, Autumn, Cali, and Chloe.
